New Group Coaching Series: Create Value Through People
Coach to Improve Effectiveness - Tap into the full potential of each individual on the team
In order to attract and retain people with the talent required to achieve critical business results, leaders must make a significant investment in their talent. Coaching, delegating and feedback are a primary means of making this investment in employees and tapping into the organizations full potential.
This series provides you with a set of practices and skills to help you and your your employees to learn and develop capabilities that will contribute to individual and organizational success.
Key Content - 6 sessions (one hour per session):
Developing Others (2 sessions)
- Describe the role of a manager in developing others.
- Explain how developing others can benefit everyone: those being developed, the manager, and the overall organization.
- Recognize the challenges faced in developing others.
- Understand the importance of building and maintaining trust
- Identify opportunities to develop the skills and capabilities of others.
- Learn a set of skills for developing others.
- Learn a variety of listening and asking skills that will help others feel confident in their own decisions.
- Conduct focused development conversations that result in professional development and growth.
Feedback & Accountability (2 sessions)
- Define and describe constructive feedback.
- Identify opportunities to provide constructive feedback in your work environment.
- Recognize the challenges and benefits of providing constructive feedback.
- Evaluate your current level of effectiveness at providing constructive feedback.
- Learn a set of skills for providing constructive feedback to others.
- Follow up with team members and hold them accountable for agreed upon actions,
Delegating (2 sessions)
- Understand the importance of effective delegation as well as the problems associated with the lack of delegating or delegating poorly.
- Communicate both the need for and the "why" of every delegated assignment and task.
- Use delegation as a powerful motivational tool
- Use delegation to improve team members' skills.
- Encourage team member participation and involvement through proper delegating methods.
- Establish a team member's responsibility and authority for a delegated task.
- Regularly monitor progress through feedback and review
